About the role

Quorn Foods is recruiting a Procurement Manager for its Direct Procurement team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, based predominately from the Leeds office (LS15) with regular travel to other Quorn sites, suppliers and third-party manufacturers. Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Lead for Directs UK and Europe, the postholder will develop and deliver category and sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, sustainability and supply resilience, identifying savings, mitigating inflation, avoiding costs and optimising working capital through cost modelling, benchmarking, volume consolidation and commercial planning. The role leads supplier negotiations, tenders, contracts and service-level agreements, managing total cost and commercial risk, and works closely with Technical, NPD, Materials Planning, Operations, Finance and Master Data to support new product launches, agree supply routes and pricing, maintain accurate commercial records in SAP, and resolve data or invoicing issues. The postholder also contributes to wider Direct Procurement priorities and helps ensure raw materials remain available to meet business needs. Essential experience includes a proven commercial background within food manufacturing, FMCG or another manufacturing environment, with experience developing and executing category and sourcing strategies; experience managing packaging, ingredients, direct materials or other specified categories; a track record of delivering savings, cost improvements, service performance, quality outcomes and supplier value creation; excellent negotiation and contract-management capability including managing strategic relationships and major commercial agreements; well-developed financial, commercial and analytical skills; and excellent stakeholder management, communication and cross-functional leadership skills, ideally alongside experience of procurement transformation, digitalisation, governance frameworks, process improvement or mentoring. The advert also asks for a passion for healthy, sustainable products. Applicants must have the right to work permanently in the UK; sponsorship is not offered. The recruitment process is a first-stage Teams call with the Strategic Procurement Lead and Resourcing Partner, followed by an in-person interview and task with key stakeholders. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with buy/sell option), matched pension and life assurance, employee assistance programmes, wellbeing schemes, and free Quorn products on-site.
