What we do

Build a career where you can shape the food system from within UK food businesses. We give you the guidance, training, and network to land a role and make an impact once you're in. Joining the programme is completely free.

1-1 coaching

Work with experienced coaches to find roles that fit your background, sharpen your CV, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile, practise interviews, and learn to make the case for change in a way a business will back. We also help you prepare applications for roles we've identified.

Coaching launches in January 2027. Join the waitlist now.

Mentoring and peer network

Once you're in a role, you're not on your own. We connect you with experienced mentors working in food businesses and a network of people in similar roles, so you can join a community, learn from each other, and build your influence.

The peer network launches in January 2027. Join the waitlist now.

The roles we focus on

Not every food industry role changes what a business buys. We look for roles with a real say in what a food business sources, specifies, buys, or serves, from supermarkets and manufacturers to caterers and public buyers like the NHS and schools.

We focus on roles that influence protein sourcing because it is one of the biggest choices a food business makes, with large effects on climate, land, water, health, and animal welfare. We rate every role on our job board from 1 to 5 for how much say it has over protein sourcing. A low score isn't a warning; many useful early-career roles score 2 or 3 because they build the skills and credibility for more influential ones.

Roles fall into three routes:

  • Responsible sourcing and supplier standards. Supplier standards, ethical trade, audits, and certification. These roles build the standards and assurance that make supply chains more resilient and ethical.

  • Plant-forward and alternative protein. Menus, reformulation, and category strategy. These roles develop products and ranges for the growing demand for plant-rich and alternative protein options.

  • Broader food sustainability. Food waste, carbon footprinting, packaging, and more. These roles give you a broad understanding of the food system, so you can bring different perspectives into sourcing decisions and help a business source more sustainably.
